I was thrilled when Polar Lights released their 1/24 scale snap together kits of the 1965 Dodge Coronet. Last night I was just goofing around trying to get a car ready for our Vintage Race Night. I already had the chassis ready (I've used the same chassis for about the last 4 years) and had an idea to mount it under a Polar Lights kit. In about 10 minutes I had a car ready to run. Top be legal in our races I will have to add numbers and a 3D driver.

Now if we can get JL to release an X-Traction of the same car....

I used an AMT chassis with their 36D motor.

It is held in with velcro.

Great looking vintage Mopar! How well do those model car bodies stand up to the 1:24 crash and bash loonies?

Crash? What? I NEVER crash. When a crash does occur, it all depends on how hard. I built the MPC Howmet Turbine Car and SOMEONE left the wal-wart power supply for the lap counter on the track under the bridge where I could not see it. I hit it at full speed. My car went under the overpass, I heard a crash, and all these little pieces came out the other side. It looked like a Roadrunner cartoon. I was was fortunate that only one small piece broke and I was able to rebuild it. We do have some cars running in the Stock Car/Trans-Am class that are held together with a lot of tape.

I have been building a black version of this car as a 1/25th scale bracket drag racer. I have added a resin factory type hood scoop, 392 hemi blower and Enderle top hat injector. Lightweight aluminum front wheels and fat cat rear wheels and tires with hurst chrome plated wheel inserts. I will submit a photo upon its completion.
