How much can they put in the in the cells we are using before they need to be larger in size? What the heck are in these things.I know how car batts. are made. They have pos. and neg. plates in them. The plates are divided by seperators so they wont short out.The thicker the pos. and neg. plates are the more power so, the thicker they are and, the more plates they have is what makes them bigger in size.So what is in our racing cells? We now have 3600's and 3700's.Im sure 4000's wiil be out one day. Will they be too big and heavy for what we are running now?How much more stuff can they stuff into them?>

i think im waiting for the day we run with an extension cord running off ac power. then with the cord we can just run in circles like a tether ball :P

Unless races get longer and longer, when do we say "we don't NEED the extra runtime"? If you can finish a raced with your hotest motor with today's cells, why do you need more?

In theory the discharge curve changes as the runtime goes up. Therefore you may start off a race with the same voltage but with a more runtime you end with a slightly higher voltage.

Here is a better question:

What happens when the cells have so much capacity that it take 60min or more to charge? 4hours of your race weekend will be charging batteries!

Given the capacity I want to see either a 4-Cell touring car class or a 10min 6 cell race. I know from going to Japanese RC Sites that they are running 8min races in Japan.

I could see 5 min qualifiers and 6 or 7 min mains becoming the norm in time.

Because I can't ;) .
4 cell modified oval uses every bit of battery you can muster up. I'll be able to dump 4000's when they come out!!!
We always need new batteries, and electronics are always getting better...Batteries included.

The motors cant handle 8 minutes of race abuse especially the mod motors, Just ask the Japenese guys who are running that long, they will tell you! The pro drivers barely get 5 minutes out of mod touring motors now! They are cooked any longer! 4 cell touring I would like to see stay in the SPEC racing aspect, keep cost down for all there, I will be a devoted 6cell touring car racer! If you want to run 4 cell run 12th scale its a blast and its 8 minutes long!!!(not as hard on the motors because of the less voltage through the motor) Any ways thats my .02
