Hello all, ive got a computer issue and i hope you can be of assistance :) Recently my processor took a major turn for the worse to i purchased a new mothrboard and processor cause everyone can use an upgrade every once in a while. I ended up purchasing an MSI motherboard and a AMD Athlon 3000+ 64bit processor, both in the box. Got everything together, went into bios to arrange everything i could and tried to boot from there. Initially it would start to load windows and then when it got to the windows login screen it would lock up. I tried booting in safe mode and a variety of other things but they all jammed up. I figured this reason could have been because i got new parts and Windows didnt reconize them or something to that extent. I put in the windows disk cause i was going to format just for kicks and it will run the cd but when it gets to "Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration." it just jams up. Ive also tried taking out the ram and running each one individually but no luck there. Hope someone has an idea of the issue, thankyou for your time.

P.S. Computer specs are as follows: MSI mobo, AMD Athlon 3000+ 64 bit, 1.25gb pc2700 ddr ram, Ati Radeon x800 pro, Audigy LS, and Windows XP Pro

Sincerely,
Binnkin

Sounds like a hardware issue, memory maybe? Does the memory match the MB? Maybe a bad stick? Try taking out one of the memory sticks and booting.... if the same problem, remove that one and put in the other one. Try setting the BIOS to the default values... some BIOS have a "safe" settings that aren't as aggressive as the defualt setting, could try that setting to.
