Hi all, my first post, sorry to not have all info - I'm helping out a friend with mowing, and he has a commercial Toro, 6.5 or something HP engine with a screw on oil filter, and the chassis is three speed; well, the thing starts OK cold, and seems to run fine with proper power and doesn’t smoke or burn oil. After running for two hours it just doesn’t want to start worth a dang – 8 to 10 pulls and I can get it going, but that’s a drag. Its been to two different shops with no improvement. Anyone have any ideas? I thought of it possibly being a vacuum leak somewhere, but there isn’t a lot of places to leak from. Any help would be appreciated.

sure its a 4-cycle. well might be the plugs going bad or i've had a problem one time with the coil went bad and would run good for a while then cut off and not start. replaced it and all was well. oh and if its a 4-cycle air leaks wouldn't affect it except if the head gasket is leaking. oh and what brand engine as well.

sounds like a valve problem to me might be too tight

I agree with the valves being too tight. Most of the time it is the ex valve. They run white hot and expand with heat after it cools down the valves gap will close back up and allow it to start. www.bowmanrepairservice.com
