I am announceing that on Feb 19th Jamestown R/C Speedway in Jamestown New York will be hosting it's first ever Allyn Sheldon Memorial Charity Race.
Allyn was a great friend and someone I admired. He raced at many national events, and traveled all over New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and anywhere in between. He was a wonderful person and a wonderful friend, I know I am one of many that will truely miss him.
All the procedes of this race will be donated to the Roswell Park Cancer Institution.
Classes:
Mini T
Stock Truck
Mod Truck
Touring Oval

4 cell 19 turn
EDM Modifieds
Track information:
100 ft. long x 36 ft. wide. Runline = 180 ft. 12 ft wide lanes.

This race will also be the last race to the newley formed Hooter Chassis Outlaw Tour, so a big turnout is allready expected. Bringing your own table might be a good idea.
I will be posting more info shortly as to what time the track opens, entry fee, and exact track address so that people may mapquest directions. I hope to see many of you there to support a very worthy cause.
P.S. If you are a manufacturer and would like to donate money or merchandise for door prizes please feel free to drop me an e-mail at jeff.patch@artonemfg.com. Thank you.
JeffPatch29 01-20-2005, 11:09 AM OK guys, entry fee is $8 for the first class, each additional class is $4.
There will be trophies for all classes.
There is going to be a raffle. instead of 50/50 he normally raffles off a personal transponder or a $100 gift certificate to the local hobby shop.
Exact directions still to come..........

If anyone has any questions concerning the race please feel free to post them here. I would be more than happy to answer any questions anyone may have.
Naz53 01-25-2005, 09:34 AM Just Bumping this back up. This race is for a great friend who we all miss traveling with. Should be a big turn out.
JeffPatch29 02-01-2005, 04:26 PM OK guys, the race is only 18 days away, any rochester or Ohio Boys planning on coming?
Stickboy 02-06-2005, 09:31 AM Jeff,
I am not sure if I can make it out, but I did post it up on our message board (http://www.rochesterrc.com) as well.
Shan
JeffPatch29 02-06-2005, 02:00 PM Ok guys, the race is coming up on us pretty fast, just wanted to check and see if anyone in the area is planning on coming. The track is averaging 50-60 people per night, and with the new tour in town I wouldn't be sruprised to see the total close to 75 if not over. the last series race they held in Erie PA had a turnout of 95 entries. Track opens at 11 and races start at 4:30. I would be glad to post any set-up information if anyone has any questions.
Shan, thanks for the exposure, I really appreciate it. This race is for a good cause and I know a lot of the guys up in that area have heard of Allyn. Have you talked to Billy Kimpton or Terry or George or any of those guys to see if they are planning on coming? Billy Kimpton and Some otherhave been down to check the place out, and I have heard that Pancar Tom has been planning on coming down.
I haven't heard anything from the classic crowd, but that doesn't mean some of those guys wouldn't show up.
We are located 3 hours from Rochester, Akron OH, and Pittsburgh PA. Anyone needing directions feel free to post here. Thanks a lot guys, hope to see you all there.
JeffPatch29 02-08-2005, 11:25 PM This just in, we are going to be doing something a little different in addition to the normal racing.
it's going to be a 15 lap dash race for a 4 foot trophy. Entry for this separate dash race will be $5, all procedes going to Roswell Park, and the winner walks away with a 4 fot trophy. The race will be with 4 cell stock cars, but 19 turn and 6 cell stock guys can enter, they just have to run 4 cell stock for that one race. It was an interesting new idea I thought we would throw in. I will be e-mailing the info the Shan tomorrow, for posting on the RochesterRC site.
Thanks Guys.
Carpet Assasin 02-10-2005, 10:19 AM Jeff is anyone running mod??
JeffPatch29 02-10-2005, 11:06 AM If we get enough cars I will, I have been running 19 turn instead though. Most everyone has been running 4 cell stock, but next year a lot of the guys are switching to 19 turn, so next year I see a full out mod class developing for those who want to run it. This is only the second year the track has been around, so they are still learning.

Red Roof Inn 1 mile away : 1980 east main street

JeffPatch29 02-16-2005, 11:10 AM We will run open modified if enough people show up. It looks like we have 3 so far, hopefully more will show up.
rccarpy 02-16-2005, 11:46 AM I can't say enough about Allyn in the last 7-8 years I knew him, I'd say he was ( and is) my best friend.I miss him alot! This race is a great chance to remember a great man, father, and racer...jeff carapellatti
Great turnout.. racing lasted until 1:30AM! We didn't get back home (to PA.) until nearly 3:00AM, but we had a VERY good time. Lots of good racing and good to see some faces that I haven't seen in quite a while. I'd like to thank Greg Moller for doing a fine job keeping 100+ entrants moving along smoothly and for providing such nice door prizes and 1st rate facility for such a worthy cause.
rccarpy 02-24-2005, 11:11 AM Yeah the racing was great and I couldnt believe we had over 100 cars!Greg did do a great job running the show with some great door prizes and raffles.
Just want to say thanks to Jeff Patch for lending me some awsome PUTNAM POWER for the 20 lap shoot out.I couldnt have done it without him.
JeffPatch29 02-24-2005, 01:29 PM Carpy, it was my pleasure to hook you up! Not a bad wheel job for not running stock in so long!! I would like to thank Jeff for running me clean all night in 19 turn and having some of the closest racing I have had in a long time. Great run in the main Jeff, can't wait till next time. I'm planning on heading up to fountain next week to practice for the Meltdown? wanna give ziggy, pete, and miller a shout and see if we can't get a mod crowd there?
