Hello Everyone!

I am pleased to announce that there will indeed be a WDRA Super Dirt Series in 2005. I am currently contacting tracks in the area and I hope to have a firm schedule together very soon.

For 2005 there will be subtle changes to the successful SDS formula, which I think will make it even better for the new year.

Probably the most noticable change is that we will be starting earlier in the year, and I am hoping to limit the schedule to 1 race per month, to help out those who travel (like me :) ) and possibly encourage more racers to follow the tour.

How early, you say? As a result of a deal made this morning, Race #1 for 2005 will be the TRAC MASTERS OPEN at Radio Hill Raceway on February 19th! Click here (http://www.dirtoval.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=001153) for info.

In addition to the classes listed on the flyer, Big Block Modified will be added.

Race #2 will be in March, and there will be a twist! I'm still working out the details, so I can't let you in on the secret just yet, but stay tuned right here for more details in the coming weeks.

With Jeff stepping down, the WDRA website is no more, so stay tuned to the forums on dirtoval.com (http://www.dirtoval.com/)for all the latest WDRA info. If you have any questions about the WDRA please contact me at pbrauer14@yahoo.com.

More details to come.

More news, but first the boring stuff!

Last year 3 classes chased points:
-Big Block Modified
-Big Block Stock
-Small Block

I thought that worked out very well, in that Modified drivers only doubled-up and ran stock 1 or 2 times during the season....not enough to have an impact on the Stock points. Even though there is no written rule regarding running 2 classes for points, it is not encouraged, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Now for some more interesting stuff. Race #2 has been scheduled and there's a little twist. Drum roll please...

In the spirit of the old (full scale, for those who don't remember) DIRT/Asphalt series, WDRA SDS Race #2 will be on March 19th, and will be held at FOUNTAIN RACEWAY on the carpet!! The event will be in conjunction with the regular Saturday night program at Fountain. Check out Fountain Raceway's website (http://www.fountainraceway.com/index.html) for start times.

I think that this will be something just a little different and should be a lot of fun!

Another thing that I am working on will be a fund raiser to benefit the season ending points prizes. I'm hoping to be able to give away a lot of killer stuff....more than any sponsor would probably be willing to donate! I'll probably start with a raffle, which I am working on the details for right now.

For the moderators....if promoting a raffle on this site is against some rules, please let me know.

More to come....

I'd like to get some comments from the Syracuse guys who follow the tour. I see that the Spring Classic at Walt's is on Mar. 19th. Should I look into moving the Fountain race up a week?

Thanks Dave, and no John Deeres allowed....LOL!!!

The 1st stop on the WDRA Super Dirt Series is fast approaching! This Saturday racing begins at 1:00 at Radio Hill Raceway in Dundee, NY for the TRAC MASTERS OPEN. The doors will open at 9am. For further information please check RochesterRC.com or dirtoval.com.

The Super Dirt Series presented by Fountain Raceway and Putnam Propulsion will be highlighted by action in the Big Block Modified, Big Block Stock and Small Block Classes, as well as a full card of the regular Radio Hill Raceway classes. For class rules and procedures, please visit our website at www.RochesterRC.com/wdra (http://www.rochesterrc.com/wdra).

The WDRA will offer some door prizes from our generous sponsors, Fountain Raceway and CDK R/C bodies.

I should also mention that raffle tickets for the Terminator kit will be available by seeing George Rodriguez on Saturday at the track, as I will be performing pallbearer duties for an uncle on Saturday. I feel terrible, that I will not be able to attend the 1st race, but some things are just more important.

Anyway tickets are just 5 bucks, and proceeds will go to benefit the drivers point fund. Tickets will also be available starting today at Fountain Raceway. Tickets are also always available by emailing me at pbrauer14@yahoo.com (pbrauer14@yahoo.com).
