View Full Version : What Cars do you have at work? Omega 01-17-2005, 11:42 AM Anybody else here have cars at work? Right now I have 47 cars on display. sethndaddy 01-17-2005, 04:49 PM I use to have a 9" afx straight track with 6 business cards standing in the slots at my kitchen design desk at home depot. jack0fall 01-17-2005, 04:53 PM :D All of them... as wall paper on my computer. :D Little things like these cars tend to grow legs when not being watched... :( Jeff ParkRNDL 01-17-2005, 06:06 PM I teach middle school. I have a little tiny oval mounted on a board in my classroom. Sometimes if the kids are good and we have some down time, I'll let a couple of them run on it. (or if I'm tired of doing what I'm supposed to be doing... then I run on it. ) I leave 3 Tyco 440 Corvettes there all the time, but they mostly sit in a drawer (kinda like my magnet cars at home). Every day I try to bring two different Tjets in a little box that I keep my briefcase and sit them on a section of Faller track by my computer. Sometimes they're JLTOs, sometimes original Auroras, or MMs or resins or whatever. It's gotten to where as some of my kids walk in the room, the first thing they do is look for the cars and ask "Whadja bring today?" Oh, and I also use a screen saver that shows pictures from a folder you choose from your hard drive... in the folder I chose are about 40 pictures of my slot cars... --rick coach61 01-17-2005, 07:25 PM Everything I got.. But then I work from home..and I have to agree with the teacher.. sometimes you just have to hit the power switch and make sure the dust isn't settling.. Dave A/FX Nut 01-17-2005, 09:27 PM :p You just might be a slothead; If your boss says " Put those darn slotcars away and get back to work! " You just might be a slothead. Sometimes I'll take a couple to work to show off or to try and get some of the guys to show up at the hobby store on race night. Randy. Mad Matt 01-17-2005, 11:36 PM :D All of them... as wall paper on my computer. :D Little things like these cars tend to grow legs when not being watched... :( Jeff Yeah I know what you mean.. I have my friggin CHAIR dissappear and I have to hunt it down I could only imagine if I put my slots, Xmod, or Zipzaps out... Ive actaully thought about running track along the top my cubicle.. But I don't think anyone would like 'limboing' under it to get to my cube..lol Omega 01-18-2005, 10:26 AM :D All of them... as wall paper on my computer. :D Little things like these cars tend to grow legs when not being watched... :( Jeff I don't need to worry about that. My office has a card reader to open the door. When I am in my office I keep the door open, but if I leave for any reason the door gets closed. Dave mtyoder 01-18-2005, 08:08 PM I work in a wood shop. I'm sure the sawdust would make em run great. :drunk: GOOSE CHICKEN 01-18-2005, 09:39 PM It's funny you ask. As you might remember I got a new job after Lightning Fest. I'll have to take some pic's cuz you would never believe me. I brought the Lightning Fest 2004 track to work and set it up in the locker room. I've since supplied several of my co workers with cars. My boss said "I wish you brought this the other day when my son was here that would have kept him busy" Work occasionally slows down and when we run out of work our boss knows right where we are. It's a blast working there. Never in my life would I have figured my boss to enjoy slots. I leave atleast 4 cars on the table at all times. A Super G+ Buick Grand National, a JLXT Chevelle, A JLTO green Charger and a JLXT gold Charger. Just the other day I told one guy (John) about Rare Earth magnets. He went and bought them and we went racing. Well we have another guy (Mike) that is very into slots and spends a good bit of time tuning and setting up his cars. Since I had alot of time and home track advantage I would usually be in the lead. When John magnet man was racing against Mike super tuner. John kicked Mikes ego. Mike took every car he had and John would always beat him. This went on for a couple of days until John left his car on the track and Mike saw what he thought was a weight for added traction. Then Mike realized he'd been had. We had a lot of fun at Mikes expense, but Mike being a good sport was just trying to get his cars into a better setup to beat John. We've run out of work at 3:00 and raced until 5:00 on more than a few occasions. Ah I just remembered another funny tidbit. While peruseing E Bay one of us found a good deal for the Super International set's We ended up buying 4 of them. I need to make a 4 lane track for work. One of the other managers offered a 4x8 sheet of plywood to set it up on. like I said I gotta get some pic's ParkRNDL 01-18-2005, 09:45 PM WOW! sounds like you got into a great work situation... congratulations! :D --rick sethndaddy 01-18-2005, 10:48 PM Goose, where the heck do you work? Omega 01-19-2005, 10:58 AM Goose, That is wild. One of the places I worked at, the owner was an 1/24th racer and in the warehouse he had a King (something) track setup. This thing was big. It had eight lanes and everyday from 11:30 to 1:30 was race time. Dave roadrner 01-19-2005, 09:16 PM Goose, Are they hiring, I'd gladly push a broom. If you all picked up four Internationals, you're gonna need more than one 4X8 sheet of plywood. ;) rr doctorslotcar 01-27-2005, 08:52 PM NO Slots at work. Only the go-karts and my outlaw. My 70 ford boss maverick is there whenever I am. The only slots Id have there would be rummage sale finds or flea market items. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
