Todays one of those days where I can dedicate a full day to my new 4-lane and slots. got all my 4-gear chassis running well but no bodies. I got some great die cast chevys 55, 57 and 64 impalas im settin on these 4-gear chassis. theyre running out well and really hold the corners.hope to get some pics up this evening. this probably sounds crazy but i had no more 4-gear bodies plus the look of the die cast bodies are awesome.

You are not crazy doc. DC conversions are fun & plus they DO look cool. Check out my pics in customs "test pics uploads. Both 4gear. :)

I am not a fan of heavy die cast bodies on HO slotcars. I prefer plastic or resin.
To each his own....

Rocky, even you have to admit that there are some bodies (DC) out there that will never be made in plastic/resin. So the only option is to re-engineer them to fit a chassis...
Of course the weight tends to slow the car down, but with a little "tweaking". They can be made to keep pace with any plastic/resin car out there (same chassis that is).

Yes, I admit thee are some really nice diecast out there. That's why I invested in an industiral vacuum former and have been making lightweight shells out of some of those die cast bodies. The material I use really brings out the detail in the cars. The '37 Chevy Deluxe Pro Mod is an example. You can see every tiny louver in the rear deck wing.
Like I stated earlier, I prefer "plastic".
