John Deere Cruse Control
On my new L111 John Deere the cruise control will not hold full speed. When you press the pedal all the way down and set the cruise control it sets the speed at about half speed. Is that normal or is there a simple adjustment. I don’t see any information in the owners manual except how engage and disengage it.

Well....they mention that using the cruise control can be dangerous in the L110 operater's manual. Maybe they changed the mechanism on the L111 to prevent it from going full speed with the cruise control on.

Goat Roper Dude
Except for you! There are some very knowledgeable people in both forums with good advice. I would assume some check both sites and some don’t. A consensus (look it up in the dictionary if you can spell) is always a good thing. If you don’t want to read both post just skip over it. I am sure you don’t have anything intelligent to add anyway.

The definitive cruise control answer from John Deere.

The Cruise Control works by having a small arm drop down and latch in a notch that locks the forward pedal down. To disengage you push the forward pedal farther down and the arm jumps out of the notch. If you have the max Cruise Control speed equal to the max machine speed then you can't push it down any farther and run the risk of not being able to disengage. When we designed the cruise it was for mowing, therefore the fact that the highest cruise speed is less than the max or transport speed wasn't a problem and in fact, the design intent. The only thing I would verify since half speed isn't what the cruise should give, is to make sure the cruise is latching in the last notch on the rooster comb cruise bracket.
