Has anyone tried to run an RC10 Dual Sport on a dirt oval and what changes have you made?

Thanks Joe

 Joe,

I have run a Nitro DS at the Mansfield 42 Speedway. It is an outdoor, highly banked, clay track. I ran the 2004 Nitro Tour Race there and made the 'A' Main with the car. ( I believe it was more the car, than me, that got me there!) It was basically stock, I even ran the stock DS foams on the rear of the car with CW fronts. The car was very stable, but I think it will benefit from some aftermarket A-arms, to widen it out. Mansfield keeps their track really smooth, so I don't know what the car will do on a bumpy track, or one with less clay content. AE made a great car, in my opinion, in the DS's. They have alot of adjustments, are pretty durable, and pretty darn cheap! Hope this may help. Keep the DS's alive!

 Dale

Thanks Dale.
Ive got the car just sitting around so im going to put a wedge body on it and give it a try. Im even going to try to run the Proline Road Hogs that came with the car.

I just bought one I hope to make it a dirt oval rqacer if we ever get a track here. When I used to race I used a RC10 Ce with short shocks all around and a stealth tranny and replaced the shock towers with fiberglass to get a lower position. Dual sport seems to be about the same.

Good luck with yours Clifford. I just got some old ANDY'S oval body mounts off Ebay so I can mount the Haggerstown late model body. I cant see no reason why the car wont work on dirt.

back in the day i used to run an rc10 with the lowering arm kits by McAllister.. then low and behold.. i saw the DS.. pretty much same thing kinda :)

i used to run the RC10 on a bumpy track hard dirt (was called Ascot RC Raceway in Gardena...) located next door to the big Ascot Raceway. Ran both a wedge body and a JG truck body.. and it did pretty good.

if I only knew more about tuning that I do now, then I did back then...

hmm.. so.. i guess it could work =)
