I currently have a Briggs and Stratton starter on ebay that you guys may want to look at. You can find it right here (http://www.qksrv.net/click-1606754-5463217?loc=http%3A//cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D4348346879) .
The starter came off of a mower that someone failed to check the oil before they cranked it. Aside from a few rust spots on the body of the starter, it is in nearly perfect condition. I rebuilt the top end of the starter shortly before the customer blew the engine, so it operates very smoothly and engages/disengages the flywheel very smoothly. Another great thing abou the starter is that is makes absolutely no noise (the bushings are like new)!
The starter has a $50 "Buy Now" price on it which I think is very reasonable considering new starters retail for $129.95 and aftermarket starters are pieces of junk.
