Thanks for the fresh start!
SCH is building a "Fresh" store and a "Fresh" Ozite™ track. Over 92' x 36' plus wildcards to extend the track are on its way for phase one. We hope to have the new track up and running before the months end.
This Ozite is from the exact run from this years Snowbirds as we are in line right behind that delivery.
The store (190' x 50') should be one of the largest dedicated R/C shops in the USA. Thanks to everyone who has been helping with all the support to make this possible!

FYI

For anyone who wants to put in their 2˘ worth on track layout, design, ideas, or whatever, we are having a meeting of the minds on Friday Night at 7PM.
Meeting will be at the new Bridgeville track - Great Southern Shopping Center off of I-79.

Mike McBride and Rob Walbrown were gracious and dedicated to take care of the 1st track in Washington and have put forward their ideas on this one as well.

Now is your opportunity to contribute towards an actual concept before it is built - instead of after the fact! Just remember, this is only Phase One and some things will not happen overnight!!! (Like our new store! ) We will make due with what materials we have and will be progressing over time as we hone this to perfection.

New items include:
Ozite™ race surface; exterior border, and some interior barriers.

Thanks!

Mike

It's Christmas for me on Friday(Serbian girl freind) but I should be there.
Also,my condolences on your loss Mike.I wish the Rooney family well in your time of morning.

Thanks Glitcher! My great aunt was Art Rooney Sr.'s sister... the last of that generation who were the 1st to be born on US soil - from Ireland. She was a true humanitarian and was very wise, but never turned away a hungry stranger... ...not too many like that around these days...

As you can see, it is late when I posted! Thanks to all who stuck around until 1 AM working their @55 off building and painting the new Steel City Hobbies Flagship store! It is really something... ... it will be an awesome place for any R/C enthusiast to visit. So I am broke... who cares! Just so we have fun!

We have a Track Meeting Friday Night at 7 PM at the Bridgeville location. (if anyone needs directions, ask or call the existing store) This is the perfect time for any racer to pitch in their 2˘ worth as far as ideas, etc. on the new track and surrounding area. Mike McBride submitted a plan that we are going with... and we will add to it if someone has a more logical idea...

So bring your ideas and bounce them off of one another... a few months down the line you will have no excuse to complain otherwise!

Hey! Thanks to everyone’s input on building a kick butt track! I think it will be one of the best this area has seen.
The food was great too so thanks for eating everything! ha-ha

SCH is moving this weekend and the store will open its new doors in Bridgeville on Tuesday. There will be a few odds and ends to take care of over the next few weeks... so please work with us if we have a few technical glitches ... ... and the track guys know what you have to do to pull all the pieces together for when the carpet arrives in about 2 weeks.

Have a great weekend!

Hey Mike, did you guys get the traditional gray ozite or the new black ozite?

Wow the pics look great, definately gonna have to make a road trip once it's all done.
I like the Steelers theme, even though I am a Cowboys fan, LOL
But my Dad and Brother would love it there for sure.

I was hoping the Ozite would be an ash color, but this run is more along the lighter gray line. This is from the exact cut/run the Snowbirds will receive.
Thanks for the comments... everyone has been working their azz off to get this done ASAP! With any luck we could be racing a week from Sat. It is not a Steelers theme, but a Pittsburgh theme... but the stripes do match the Steelers training facility hallways, etc. Some inside info for ya. haha

I was impressed with all the workers who made the appearance tonight! Thanks for that as that shows a lot of character and the dedication of the true R/C racer!

Also, McSmooth... I broke only twice I think last season... (stadium truck)... They are a lot of fun .... like Rich Price said today, now he will not be able to jump the outer rail to head down the hallway to hit pedestrians. Um.. I think that is a good thing!

Good luck to those who race on Sat! Good luck to the Steelers too...

Mike!

The store is about to "stock up" with parts and kits. If anyone wants any input, now is the time!!
We plan on ordering pan car stuff, touring car, mini-truck, and general racing supplies for carpet racing.
Let us know! (email, calling or stopping in)

Glitcher,
We will have "some" restrictions as well as making provisions for special cases. It was suggested by CRC to stick with TQ and to stay away from Jack the Gripper (due to carpet erosion). Details will be updated on the website. Hours are also on the website, but we are open daily from 11am thru 8pm Mon-Sat. Sunday 10am - 2pm We are open Mondays but may close down the line.

Carpet is supposed to be at the track by Thursday of this week! We will race one more time in WashPA this weekend.
