I haven't seen or heard of any pictures yet. I have heard that the series was coming soon a while ago, but that doesn't mean much as far as slot car releases in the past.

No info on the slots, but as far as JL VW pullbacks.........there were no brown or tan ones made (unless you got lucky and got your hands on some prototypes). Here's the pullback VW cars made:

chrome blue
pink
purple
silver chrome
gold chrome
yellow
yellow/green/blue
orange/red/white

The last 3 variations also had white thunder versions that came with white tires.

Were not the JL Pullbacks XT bodies the new VW release is supose to be TJETS

I've already pre-ordered the VWs and they are TJets. Don't want any more AFX Baja Bugs. They're okay for what they are but I want some street stock TJet bugs to customize and race as I see fit. I do hope they do the notch back, the Ghia, the Bus, and some of newer VWs like the Passat. But the bugs are what I'm most interested in. Whatever they are doing, they've been very secretive about it. I can't recall any previous release that was so close to the originally advertised shipping date without spy photos being leaked to the web.

I'm guessing that they'll all be VW's that JL had the rights to prior to the RC2 buyout.Besides the baja,I think that would be the bus, ghia, beetle and pickup truck. So I imagine that is what we will be seeing in this series.

I too would LOVE to see a notchback. The notchback is the same as the squareback, right?????

All said and done,it will be interesting to see what comes after these come out.

I believe it would be a safe bet that it will be some of these since they have the licensing for these diecast. I would like to see a Super Beetle also.

There you go.I could live without the new beetle and the new bus thank you very much.

Thinking about it,and not that it even really matters at this point, but the only VW I can remember from RC2 was a Jetta from the line of Fast And Furious diecast cars that they did.

Lpgeoteacher, have you seen the VW keychain cars? They were in the 7-11 / AM-PM, and other conveience stores. They came in many colors and went for a buck each.

Anybody know the release date for the VWs? I'd get a case of them to play around with, and a few of the Ghia...I love that car for some un-known reason. I hope they dont play games with the date like they did with the bowties. I cant handle 3 or 4 months of delays again!! LOL

I've not see them but I have a friend who will drill a hole in any diecast to make it a keychain

Realise that there is a new series of Diecast VW due out this year. It includes a convertable, Split window bug, and a panel van amoung others. These could also make the cut for tjet bodies

Just a little update for what it's worth an update posted on the JL page of the polar lights website on Jan 3 states that the VWs (Series 9) is comming out this month, and will include Herbie the Love Bug. I dont know how this series jumped over the "Mopar Muscle" X-tractions. And if its anything like the Bowtie Brigade, I guess we wont actually get them in stores until April or May. (2005?? LOL) We will just have to wait and see what comes of it.
