It is recommended to have a personal transponder as through the years the house transponders have been slowly dying.
MRT transponders are usually available for purchase at club races from Charlie, please come see him on a race day if you are interested in buying one.
Throwing this out there, there has been some discussion of a "small block" MudBoss class. It would essentially be the stock Traxxas speed control and stock 12T brushed motor and the other MudBoss rules. Gearing could remain as the slash spec class is currently, or we could open/change that as well. Also, we would need to determine if the LCG chassis would be allowed in the class as well. Seems like there was some interest in running this class and maintaining our current "big block" MudBoss class with the brushless 13.5.
Thoughts, Interest?
This should be a more manageable speed, although I have been told that at other tracks the lap times are very similar to that of the "Big Block" class with the 13.5's.
Even though I don't run MuddButt, I think the slower version of the class is a good idea for two reasons.
It will allow people to step into a competitive class with minimal investment, especially since the majority of people are moving up from running Slash's.
Second, having a "spec" set of electronics helped keep the Slash Spec on an even keel. It should help force people to work on setup instead of pointing fingers at "he has a more powerful motor".
My mud boss is almost done... hoping to have it ready for the indoor season. I just need to have the body wrapped.. can anyone direct me to the right person?

After much thought and debating with myself, I have come to the conclusion that I need to take a short hiatus from production at RCvinylExpress so that I can sort out some long nagging issues with the website, get caught up on wraps that are currently in the design queue and build out a better way to collect orders and information.
We have grown so quickly that I have not had the time to properly prepare for the amount of work that came in on a consistent basis. This company is a side project for me and I am obligated to my day job and family first, so I apologize to any of you that have waited longer than a time frame I have estimated for you.
I aim to make sure everyone who has contacted me prior to this point gets taken care of, then I will work on fixing the website, and building a proper wrap order form, a FAQ, and a price list so that the amount of work I need to do on the back end is focused on design and completing product, not chasing emails and questions.
I appreciate every single customer and order that has come through these virtual doors. You have all been extremely good to me in posting pictures, spreading the word amongst friends and fellow racers, and I can't thank you enough. I will announce an official relaunch date in the future.
Since this is the time of year to blow the dust off of the indoor equipment, what is everyone planning on running? Nice to have people know what classes to expect so they don't toss money into a class that may or may not run.
I think it's safe to say there will be Novice, Slash Spec, and MudBoss.
I've dusted off the legend and Pan Breakout cars. legend will run, battery for the breakout car isn't happy so that's on the fence for me. I've also dug a touring car out of the closet for VTA. (you're welcome Matt)
Thanks for the offer Mark. I do have a functional 1 cell for it, the battery just doesn't meet my stringent testing requirements.
Buick turns over a little slow when I use that pack to jump start it.
I think it would be best to match our 12t Mudboss class to what Middletown is running, which is salvas 12t rules, since a few guys have been asking if we had the class and are interested in running with us.
12t
Xl5 ESC
LCG allowed
86 spur, open pinion
Same foam tires
That sounds reasonable to me - similar to our slash spec oval class so a good way to transition over. Unless we hear otherwise I vote to move out with those rules.
If I remember correctly, Brian is putting his 12th scale together for this season as well as a VTA car. Aside from that I think he is only running pan breakout on the oval.
I'll ask Charlie in person next Friday.
He had at least 2 as of the challenge.
On a completely unrelated note, are we going to have Mudboss foams available at the track? If y'all don't know, that's another question I'd have to ask Charlie.
Cool. Depending on how I like the TC3 for open will depend on if I toss it and just run my outdoor car. Good to know we'll have the foams for it at the track.
Hey John. I know when we spoke at the challenge you may be looking for some new electronics for SCT & maybe 1/8. I know it's indoor know. Tower Hobbies is having a closeout on the left over Novak stuff. Picked up a Activ8 V2 with 1900kv HD8 motor for 127 bucks, delivered(after coupon). Can't beat that with a stick (no warranty though so you are taking a chance) Hammer sensored with 3900kv 4pole 99.99 Just some food for thought.

Taking a break in raceing Need money for new Hobby
Hey, I know a lot of you guys have and run Stock 12T Slashes. Critters has been talking about setting up a Stock Spec Slash off road class to be run on Sundays. Rules would be same as any other Spec Slash class, the only option we were thinking about was whether or not to allow tire changes. Maybe a Spec tire that works a little better on that surface than the kit tires, but that would totally be up to the racers to agree on. OH and another rule that I personally really like, If you race Spec slash you can not race any other classes (except maybe 2wd SCT)
Please let me know if you guys would consider running the class. And see you guys in a couple weeks.
Left her last name off so Google couldn't find her, especially when the results were posted.
If the system needs it, i'll verify with her before having you add it.
