what is the best esc/motor combo for sc?

I have a losi sct I'm racing in the stock corr class. I used the stock esc and motor but the resistors or caps or whatever they are on the motor wires got really hot and melted, so I bought the AE brushless 3300 system. Well, today I finally got to use it and I did worse with it then the losi system. A lot of guys are running the XL5 and titan motor set up. What is the best system to use in these? Is the losi esc good enough to run the titan motor??

Try out the Speed Passion stuff. Solderless connections are dialed and make maintenance a breeze. Been using 17.5 V3 in my SC for about 8mo. using boost with zero issues. Can also use zero timing blinky too.

put the stock system back in, and cut the capacitors off the motor. It was put on to sell in europe. The truck runs faster without those capacitors.

They are not capacitors. They are inductors (coils, Chokes) And yes the truck is much faster with out them. Make sure you keep an eye on esc temps. when you remove the extra resistance of the coils you allow more current to flow through the esc. More current= more heat. Mine is still running at a safe (110 deg) but we only run 5 min races.

Can't go wrong with this combination...

Many of the main lines of motors and escs are top quality and will work well. I personally have had great luck with Tekin RS speed controllers and D3 Team Epic motors. I have yet to run in to a situration in any class where I didn't have the HP to win. (Driving and Set-up... Thants another story!)

If you are good at tuning go with the D3 if you want a motor already tuned to you specific needs and application go with the Fantom Ion3 motors. They do a great job of setting you up with an application specfic motor.

Best of luck!

Like jfuel said all the power in the world cant win a race. If you drive better and crash less with a stock brushed or 17.5 use that. Let them guys with all the power flip over. Trust me ive went around many bl trucks when they went for a triple and fliped. Ill take a double and a single and pass them with my titan 12t. Driving is what wins races the bl motors just help it.
