Is the magic in the 'shrooms, or the Roundabout?

Sometimes the neatest things are NOT what you are looking for, but you find them anyway! I can think of a few examples of things like this Iíve stumbled across, and Iím sure you can too. However, every now and then I come across something SO weird that not only wasnít I looking for it, I didnít even KNOW to look for it? Confused? So was I!

The object in question was an old, large-scale Corgi from the British childrenís TV show ďThe Magic RoundaboutĒ. Given that tomorrow is 4-20 (with all the countercultural implications), it seemed that there couldnít be a better time to post this oddest of little oddities! Check it out for something completely different!

So the Brits had their own nightmare fuel while we struggled with The Banana Splits, the Bugaloos, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters and...and... oh it hurts... Liddsville.

And yes, I am aware of how powerfully ironic it is to talk Liddsville on the eve of 4/20.

No mention of HR Pufnstuf, the Saturday morning acid trip that started that hit parade?

Pufnstuf was genius and a beloved memory of my youth! It's not the same at ALL!

(well, yes, of course it is, but you have to admit it was TAME compared to the acid trip that was Liddsville. )

Dude, 'Witchypoo' was IN Lidsville every single episode. Well, the actress Billie Hayes was at least..

And to bring it full circle, it seems Lidsville (I misspelled it with two 'd', sorry), according to Wiki, was inspired/ripped off from a British program near the same time called 'Hattytown Tales' which format seems alot like The Magic Roundabout.

Around and around and around...

Someone built a full size version of Dick Dastardlys car.

or the Pinchcliffe Grand Prix. A stop motion miniatures movie.

And yes, someone built a full size one. Dooood.

Pinchcliffe Grand Prix also inspired the founder of Koenigsegg Super Cars to become a car manufacturer. He even sells the movie on the website.

DVD ? Pinchcliffe Grand Prix ? Koenigsegg Gear

That wasn't the only one.

Ahh, the 60s. I often wonder what the people who produced these "kid shows" were smoking.

Penelope Pitstop. Giant lips and a giant beaver. In the car beside her. [one of The Banana Splits?]

She eventually got her own show.
