Deep purple

Ok. So finally fought my way to Hobby Lobby and picked up some of this paint I've been meaning to try.
Krylon Stained Glass Royal Purple and Testors Transparent Blue

This is the 442 I soldered the hole closed on the roof.

I can tell you this Royal Purple is more "wine" colored.. like it has more berry color than grape

I added a coat of the Transparent blue, then 2 coats of the purple. Came out really dark... but kinda cool.

I did have a real redline Ford J Car that was as dark as this... and it was original, not a re-paint... looked like it went thru the purple spectraflame like twice or something.

I could redo the whole paint job, but think I'm just gonna go forward with "Deep Purple" here... have repro redline 442 stickers and a re-pro spoiler to add to it... base will be the plastic chrome one that came with it... a 76 model, chassis and wheels are in good shape

Cool. I'm always looking for something to replicate Spectra flame.
