Honestly that is about the last stuff I would use. Testors spray paints do not go on overly smooth, so you will get spots and drips and blops that will show up on the tinted parts.
Tamiya makes clear smoke, blue, red, etc. spray paints that go on smoother than the Testors stuff. If you have to use a spray can that is what I would get.
But, if at all possible, get the Tamiya clear jar paints and airbrush them on. That way you can control the amount of tint you get, have less of a chance for splatter, and if you goof up, a dip in WIndex will remove the paint with no harm to the plastic.
Gotta agree with DJNick66. I tried to use the Testor's clear black spraycan on Elvira's legs to simulate her stockings and ended up having to sand it off.
Glad you mentioned the distinction. I never think about their polycarbonate paint but you sure don't want to confuse the two!
