Does anyone remember Owl?

Hello,

Does anyone remember a member of the Johnny Lightning Collectors' community who went by the name "Owl" on here? He was quite active between 2001-2009, and sporadically afterwards.

He was my father. He passed away on May 13th, 2017 at 57 years old. I felt like I needed to post something here.

I remember as a kid, waking up extra early so we could go to Tous R Us to look for white lightnings and other needed cars. He showed me where people would hide them in the stores and would take photos of them and edit them into hand-drawn backgrounds on the computer. His collecting was such a huge part of my childhood.

I just wanted to post this here, in case anyone remembers him.

P.S. His real name was Craig.

Prayers to you and your family. Thank you for taking time and sharing your memory of him.

Ordinarily he was insane, but he had lucid moments when he was merely stupid.

I remember Owl. I think he had a pic of an owl as his avatar, right?
It's been a while.

Thoughtful of you to post in his honor - sounds like you had fun with your Dad!

I remember him well. Nice guy. I am so sorry for your loss, he was too young for sure. He had a Johnny Lightning website at one time and the picture of the Klingon ship would fade in and out (cloaking!). He also made display cases out of wood for a short while. He drove up for at least one Lightning fest so I met him there.

You just made me cry. I remember him making those cases. He was so proud of them. He put so much work into them. He was an amazing carpenter and put a lot of heart into all of his projects. I'm so happy you remember them! :-)

I wish he had kept his websites up. I loved the pictures he used to do! I used to think it was the coolest thing in the world!
