Toy Show - East Hartford, CT

I am very late in posting this but I have been in touch with a number of HT members about it.
This Sunday, April 1st, there is a toy show at the Holiday Inn in East Hartford, Connecticut on Roberts Street. It's very easy to get to from I-84.
The show runs from 9:00AM to 2:00PM.
There will be Johnny Lightnings and other diecast cars.

As far as I know, definite attendees from the board are myself, 70XR7, AQUA XK8.
Possibles are CTWLSMIKE, carnut2256, and ViperMan.

Anyone else interested? We'll have fun, guaranteed!

East Hartford is just over the CT River from Hartford. So, on I-84 from the NY border figure about an hour. Hope to see you Sunday!

Sorry about that, John. And my apologies to the other HT members who may have been able to come if they had more advanced notice.
John, call me if you're coming down.

I'll be there at 9:00, but I'm planning to be out of there by 11:00 to go to a kayak race in Manchester.

Up in the air at this point, Mark. Lucy wanted to go for a nice all day "ride", but asked me to install a bathroom faucet first. "It'll take you fifteen minutes" she said. That was four and a half hours ago. It's installed, but I can't get the plunger set to the height she "likes" it

I just know she's going to want to go for that ride tomorrow (even though I deserve a treat for spending the day on my back inside a tiny vanity!!!!)

*sigh*

I went but late didn't see anyone from here there. Did see a few people I know but no one from here didn't buy anything for me saw some nice deals and alot of cool cars. The place was a little tight and hard to stand back and look at stuff but overall not bad.

Hey David, too bad you couldn't get there earlier. Dadscoronet (Mark) and I met up about 9 and saw everything. That dollar-a-car guy took most of our business (and time) and we both left his table with a bag stuffed with JL. He had lots of older JL that I've never seen before. I guess the most unusual diecast I got from him was a Sea-Doo, and yes, it's on Wyatts site.

Mark, good guy that he is, had a list of cars he was shopping for; not for himself, but for you guys on this board that were looking for something particular. What a guy!

I left the show about 11:00 and Mark was getting ready to do the rounds again in the show, so I don't know what goodies he found. There were plenty of them there.

One dealer had his WL in a case with prices starting at 15.00, while his regular JL cars hung on pegs. Lucky for me he didn't know that the latest MONC WL had a chrome engine with a white interior. I was able to find the new Dodge 330 WL and paid his price of the regular issue.

Call me a good luck charm. I was right next to David when he snagged that WL Dodge 330 (kinda like a "Coronet", right? ). There was a wide variety of diecast and assorted car-related items. Got some good deals. I was struggling with whether or not to spring $25 for a HW 2-car set - a gorgeous red, white and blue '41 Willys Gasser and '70 Mustang Mach 1 w/ a red and white flamed paint job. The seller said the set goes for $40 on the bay. I kept my $25.
I stuck around till 12 - 12:30. Got a call from Mike (70XR7) as I was just getting into my car. We chatted for awhile but he said he wasn't going to make it. Picked up info on some future shows throughout the year and put my name on the organizer's mailing list for notification of his upcoming events. I will be much more timely with notification.
